Summer 2010 Research Experience for Biology Teachers: Gain hands-on research experience in a working laboratory devoted to providing new fertility options for cancer patients!
Summary
In 2010, we will be seeking two enthusiastic, innovative high school biology teachers for paid research internship positions available for the summer at Northwestern’s downtown Chicago campus. The candidates will be doing research in oncofertility, an emerging field established by Teresa Woodruff that bridges oncology and women’s health research for the purpose of exploring and expanding options for the reproductive future of cancer patients.
In addition to participating in an active research lab, teachers will also work on migrating selected research activities into classrooms by developing a laboratory curriculum activity. Participating teachers will be expected to implement the activities they develop during the following school year. Teachers will work with faculty and mentors from Northwestern’s School of Education and Social Policy. For more information, contact c-babick@northwestern.edu.
Kemi Jona, PhD, SESP research associate professor, serves as director of OSEP.
